E029 - Mob Mentality - Bullywugs: Toadally Unfrogettable
Tuesday Aug 13, 2019
Tuesday Aug 13, 2019
One of the most overlooked and underrated monsters in the 5th Edition Monster Manual is Bullywugs, and so the panel of Dungeon Masters dives in with both feet to wade around in the limited lore that Dungeons & Dragons has provided. From societal quirks to potential allies to the new additions in Ghosts of Saltmarsh, the DM's open up about everything amphibious and discuss tactics, campaign hooks, and unique roleplaying opportunities.
SUMMARY: It's all evil threats, slimy warts, and swampy bumps this week on It's A Mimic! and we're not just talking about Intern Dave this time! Standard Bullywugs, Croakers, and Royals all get a good look, as well as a variety of other different frog- and toad-themed enemies. One of the few mobs that relies heavily upon its environment, Bullywugs add the potential for both comedy and horror in any campaign, even up into Tier 3 if done properly. Also, tune in to learn the difference between toads and frogs! See, we're occasionally educational, too...

I'm surprised you take about how to carry bullywugs in the further tier s you don't mention having the hag were they got some of this magic from as a leader on the point in the upper tiers I mean yes the only ones are not that much of a threat and yes you guys are mentioned tournament not mobs but the one-hit-kill opponents you do that and throw in all the other fun stuff and they now you know you've got a hundred bullywugs plus all the stuff plus you have in the back you got the hag throwing magic stuff casting spells do in the whole range caster behind an army thing boom. Now they're still doing the bullywugs but they're getting to the Puppet Master behind them and behind some of the problems in the swamp they can clarify. If they kill the hag.
