This week's episode of the It's A Mimic! podcast transitions from discussing low intelligence solo-type monsters to discussing intelligent creatures and their strategies and tactics. Generally I find magical items with intelligence to be great additions to a campaign. They give me levers without taking up floorspace. They have the ability to give or take away power mid combat, not just in town. Imagine Terrys armor whispering at him "I'll make sure yo win if you just do a little thing for me later...."

Adam I find it very interesting that what you are looking for when you talk about trying to figure out when the monsters are going to run away or hide or pass over picking on our particular players. you're talking about a morale system not moral system wherein you're trying to figure out what the breaking point is for the encounter rather than fight to the death which is a very basic D&D rule that we've lost along the way

Adam, with your quote of "not seeing anyone dying for money" you are missing mercenaries, the hard core of Breaking Bad and there are some great movies out there where some characters are dying and going to die for money to help others.
