I think the Chimera should only be confusing to unskilled characters or due to close but not successful results. Don’t punish the skilled character without good cause.

A good use of the Manticore’s territorialism is to use them as a soft border giving an enemy the opportunity to make a mistake of thinking they are attacking a weak spot in the defenses but opening them to the Manticores.
