C000 - The Deep Dark of Radiance: Prophecy (Call of Cthulhu Actual Play)
Monday Sep 30, 2019
Monday Sep 30, 2019
In the prelude to the miniseries The Deep Dark of Radiance, Daniel, The Keeper of Arcane Secrets, walks you through his Session Zero. He establishes tone, setting, and boundaries before he sets out to help the players understand the rules and character creation. This special prologue will help players understand how to prepare for a campaign that uses the Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition, as well as provide a glimpse into his own homebrew world.
Carving its way through the beautiful Yukon landscape is The Yukon Adventure, the largest and most extravagant passenger experience in the arctic, often boasting royalty and millionaires among its clientele. It visits the larger cities in the region, but merely slows down as it passes through the smaller mining towns, fishing villages, and military outposts, to give the drunken millionaires and wide-eyed adventurers a glimpse of the simple way that these people live. The exception to this, of course, is Radiance, Yukon, where the Canadian gold rush both sprung to life and gasped its final breath. But as the train approaches, and the sun begins its final descent below the horizon for the next 37 days, an immense evil lurks in the frozen darkness, waiting and watching…

E035 - Class: 1000 Attacks - Monks: The Ki to Happiness
Tuesday Sep 24, 2019
Tuesday Sep 24, 2019
This episode of the It's A Mimic! Podcast sees the panel of Dungeon Masters sit down and dig deep into Monks and what makes them special. There is a flurry of ideas as they break down three radically different sub-classes, but lament that unique character ideas are relatively difficult due to the simple and straightforward role playing options that are provided in the Player’s Handbook.
There are a couple of points where the wording in the Monk section seems tricky, and Adam and Dan get into the nitty-gritties more than once. The group looks into the three sub-classes in the Player's Handbook - the Way of the Open Hand, the Way of Shadows, and the Way of the Four Elements - and discuss their strengths and weaknesses, before moving on to interesting character builds and inspirations.

E034 - Class: 1000 Attacks - Fighters: Martial Bliss
Tuesday Sep 17, 2019
Tuesday Sep 17, 2019
In this episode of the It's A Mimic! podcast, the three Dungeon Masters sit down and discuss what is seemingly the simplest class, but there's more to Fighters than meets the eye! The classic Dungeons & Dragons martial class has a ton of surprising options, and the DM's break down different ways to approach building the sub-classes and using the class features in creative ways.
SUMMARY: When the panel of Dungeon Masters FINALLY get to the point, they look into why Fighters are so iconic, and what class features make them a good option for multi-classing. They look at the three sub-classes in the Player's Handbook - the Champion, the Battle Master, and the Eldritch Knight - and discuss their strengths and weaknesses, before moving on to interesting character builds and inspirations.

E033 - Worldbuilding - Without the "& Dragons"
Tuesday Sep 10, 2019
Tuesday Sep 10, 2019
It’s all about subterranean locations in this week’s episode of the It’s A Mimic! podcast, as the panel of Dungeon Masters discuss what makes a dungeon a dungeon, and how to properly design one. One of the lynchpins of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition, the dungeon has some must haves and some faux pas, and the DM’s discuss what these are, as well as how players should go about exploring, fighting, and role playing in these infamous locations.
SUMMARY: On of the biggest tropes in Dungeons & Dragons is players fighting their way through the first half of the title, but how boring and how difficult should these areas be? Terry discusses the use of some helpful mundane items, Dan gripes about the issue with Mega Dungeons, and Adam encourages players to get tricky with a certain tool proficiency. From rests and role playing to puzzles and pacing, this episode covers the ins and outs and unders of D&D’s most classic adventure type.

E032 - Lore - Fey Gone Wild
Tuesday Sep 03, 2019
Tuesday Sep 03, 2019
It's lunacy, flawed logic, memory loss, and time travel nonsense in this episode of the It's A Mimic! podcast as the panel of DM's slips from the prime material plane to the Feywild! And when the panel of DM's slips from the prime material plane to the Feywild, it's lunacy, flawed logic, memory loss, and time travel nonsense in this episode of the It's A Mimic! podcast!
SUMMARY: Green Dragon lairs prove to be an interesting topic as Terry disappears for an episode while Dan talks about Banderhobbs, Hexblade Warlocks, and Thieves. But it's not all Big, Bad, and Evil as Adam brings us some surprise specials about types of Fiends! From their cold, arctic lairs to stealing from Goblinoids, the podcast gives some fans some feedback, and looks over Circle of the Shepherd and the Light Domain, while focusing on preparing for the Underdark with any dragon lore that might help. So tune in for some random facts about orcs, bards, and barbarians, as we head back to the beginning of our fantasies, explore a lizard shower, answer some questions, and explore the three pillars of Dungeons & Dragons while we meet the DM's. … Wait.

E031 - Dragon Mastery - Green Dragons: Poisoning Minds and Lungs
Tuesday Aug 27, 2019
Tuesday Aug 27, 2019
When the panel of Dungeon Masters FINALLY gets to the topic of Green Dragons, they latch on to some tactics and personality quirks that they find interesting. There are some strange mechanics and odd design choices that they break down, and the DM’s revel in the petty and conniving nature of the big, scaly foes.
SUMMARY: As the boys sit down to go over Green Dragons, they look not only at battle strategies, but also at how and why to split the party, where and how to use Green Dragon lairs, and even how to make one the central evil NPC of the campaign. Listen this week to hear how Green Dragons can be constant harassers, mob bosses, kings, monsters, zoo keepers, and even kobold lairs!

Podcast reached 1000 followers on IG, and the prize was allowing one person to choose the topic of a special episode geared just toward them! E029 - Mob Mentality - Bullywugs: Toadally Unfrogettable
Tuesday Aug 13, 2019
Tuesday Aug 13, 2019
One of the most overlooked and underrated monsters in the 5th Edition Monster Manual is Bullywugs, and so the panel of Dungeon Masters dives in with both feet to wade around in the limited lore that Dungeons & Dragons has provided. From societal quirks to potential allies to the new additions in Ghosts of Saltmarsh, the DM's open up about everything amphibious and discuss tactics, campaign hooks, and unique roleplaying opportunities.
SUMMARY: It's all evil threats, slimy warts, and swampy bumps this week on It's A Mimic! and we're not just talking about Intern Dave this time! Standard Bullywugs, Croakers, and Royals all get a good look, as well as a variety of other different frog- and toad-themed enemies. One of the few mobs that relies heavily upon its environment, Bullywugs add the potential for both comedy and horror in any campaign, even up into Tier 3 if done properly. Also, tune in to learn the difference between toads and frogs! See, we're occasionally educational, too...
